Bracelet & Cuff Sizing
To help your customers find their perfect fit and buy with confidence, here is a clear, step-by-step sizing guide tailored to your handmade chain bracelets and structured cuffs.
Measure Your Wrist
To find your baseline wrist size, follow these quick steps:
Wrap a flexible measuring tape around your wrist bone, snug but not tight.
If you do not have a tape measure, wrap a piece of string around your wrist and mark where the ends meet.
Lay the string flat against a ruler and record the exact measurement to the nearest 1/4 inch. This is your actual wrist size.
Determine Your Bracelet Size (Chain/Link Style)
Because chain bracelets need room to move without sliding off, add the following increments to your Actual Wrist Size based on your preferred fit:
- Snug Fit: Add 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch (Best if you want the piece to stay put)
- Comfort Fit: Add 3/4 inch (Standard fit, allows the piece to move slightly)
- Loose Fit: Add 1 inch to 1 1/4 inches (Allows the piece to slide up and down the arm)
Example: If your actual wrist measures 6.5 inches, a 7.25-inch bracelet will provide a classic, comfortable fit.
Determine Your Cuff Size (Structured Style)
Structured cuffs do not close completely; they feature a gap (opening) that allows you to slide the metal onto your wrist from the side.
A cuff's total size is calculated by adding the Inner Metal Length and the Gap Width together.
| Cuff Size | Actual Wrist Measurement | Inner Metal Length | Gap Width | Total Circumference |
| Extra Small | 5.5" to 5.75" | 5.0" | 0.75" | 5.75" |
| Small | 6.0" to 6.25" | 5.25" | 1.0" | 6.25" |
| Medium (Standard) | 6.5" to 6.75" | 5.75" | 1.0" | 6.75" |
| Large | 7.0" to 7.25" | 6.25" | 1.25" | 7.50" |
| Extra Large | 7.5" to 7.75" | 6.75" | 1.25" | 8.00" |
How to Properly Put On a Structured Cuff
To preserve the hand-forged shape of your cuff and prevent the metal from fatiguing over time, avoid pulling the ends apart or squeezing them tightly on your arm.
- Find the sweet spot: Locate the softest part of your inner wrist, about an inch above your wrist bone.
- Slide sideways: Turn the cuff sideways and gently roll the opening over the narrow side of your wrist.
- Rotate: Once the metal is past your wrist bone, rotate the cuff into place so the opening sits flat against the underside of your arm.
